My name is Brett Kolweier and I am thrilled to be a Bethalto Eagle. For the first 6 years of my career, I taught 7th/8th grade in Oakdale, IL. I received my Master's in Counseling from Lindenwood University-Belleville in May.
As the school counselor, I envision a school where all students have the opportunity to pursue and achieve the education they want and deserve. This means giving all students access to academic, social, and emotional assistance as needed and ensuring that the learning environment at Wilbur Trimpe Middle School is one where all students are treated fairly and equally.
I encourage students and parents to contact me if there is any area where you feel that I could be of assistance. For students struggling academically, we can work on study habits, time management, expectations, or organization. I can offer guidance in early career exploration. Socially, students may need assistance to better interact with other students, identify personal values, or help a transitioning into or out of middle school. The teenage years can be confusing and present a unique set of challenges. Students may need help understanding the changes that are happening both mentally and physically. I can also provide support and assistance in times of family crisis.
This is going to be a great school year and I look forward to working with each and every one of you!!!
